Focusing In

In only a couple weeks of researching I've already found so much information on teen sexual activity I'm beginning to feel overwhelmed. Because I won't even be able to touch on all of the necessary information surrounding this huge topic in a three hour parent seminar, I've decided to drop the subject of illicit drug use. It would be an overload of information and it's not the number one priority when it comes to improving teen health at this time. My main goal in conducting this seminar is to teach parents how to break the ice of these uncomfortable topics and learn strategies for continuing honest communication with their adolescents. Hopefully they will be able to use the same tools in bringing up the dangers of drug use at this stage of critical brain development.
